  1. Those chrome wheels really look sharp!
  2. Congrats Walkabout! While I'm not a fan of China's Geely and wish you had again bought American, (At least American owned) you've got to do what you've got to do... I leased a 1989 Volvo 780 Turbo Bertone back in the day... It was a looker for sure... Fun to drive and I received lots double-takes and compliments on it. I liked it so much that I bought it from Volvo Finance at the end of the lease. Timmer
  3. Sounds like something I'd do....?
  4. You'll likely be happy to have the OEM hitch, shoeguy. As others have said, even if you never use it, it will help the resale / trade-in value... The roof side rails will dress up the vehicle a bit, IMO... They cannot be added post-production by the dealer, so if you ever want to use a cargo box or other rooftop accessory I think you'll be happy to have them as well... Timmer
  5. Cool site! Thanks for posting, Cosmos...
  6. So glad to learn all worked out... This could have been much, much worse. I owned a Volvo 780 Turbo Bertone back in the day. It was driven overheated without coolant after a hose failure, causing several thousand dollars of corrective repair... After this incident, the car never ran the same again. A short time later I traded the car in on my first Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Eventually the driver was traded in as well... ?
  7. How about Lincoln's 4-Year 50K bumper to bumper warranty versus Ford's 3-Year 36K? The longer Lincoln warrany is a definite value-added plus in my book., Especially considering all of the super expensive MKX/Nautilus electronics and gizmos...
  8. Beautiful car... Congrats!
  9. Took a road trip for a long weekend of golf and R&R recently. We drove my friend's new Range Rover Velar HSE as my MKX Black Label was having window tinting applied. The drive was about 4 hours each way and a combination of interstate and hilly/mountainous two-lane, winding side-road driving. The Velar had about 4,000 miles on it. She recently traded her problematic Range Rover Evoque in for the new Velar. No in-depth analysis here... Just a few observations: The Velar was very cool, very powerful and fun to drive. Especially impressive were the three (3) high-def infotainment system screens. Two in the middle dash between the driver and passenger, and a third as part of the instrument cluster in front of the driver. After driving the Range Rover Velar, I'm even more impressed with how whisper-quiet the interior cabin of my MKX is. Compared to the MKX, the Velar's interior was downright loud. The ride, handling and road-hugging of my MKX is far superior to the Velar. Frankly, it wasn't even close to the MKX. The Velar felt like I was driving a truck, similar to the Ford Explorers I've previously owned. Lastly, I like the understated luxury of my MKX. The Range Rover felt a little bit show-offy. But then again. I'm from Minnesota where we think putting peas in tuna macaroni salad is show-offy... ? My $0.02 Timmer
  10. I guess I've been blessed with my 2016 MKX Reserve and 2018 MKX Black Label. (Knock on wood) Last month I drove the 2018 Black Label from the Upper Midwest to Southern California on the annual snowbird pilgrimage out of the Great White North. I had zero issues along the way... The MKX is such a pleasure to drive! The adaptive cruise control, 22-way massaging seats and Revel Ultima sound system were icing on the road-trip cake... If a Lincoln Dealer / Service Advisor ever told me a loudly clunking, poorly shifting transmission was "normal" for an MKKX, I'd be looking for a different dealer... Timmer
  11. Doug - Congrats on your new Nautilus! Sorry this happened out of the blocks... Keep us posted on getting this matter resolved... Timmer
  12. Agree that little has changed in the 2019 Nautilus interior from 2016-2018 MKX model years. In my view, it's hard to improve on perfection... I also agree that the Nautilus nose, specifically the grille, is not an improvement. Admittedly, I'm a split-wing grille guy. Removing bugs from the new Lincoln emblem "egg crate" grille is going to be a bugger... See what I did there? Bugs... Bugger... Haha! I'll be playing in the lounge all week. Early show... Don't forget to tip your server... Merry Christmas to all...! Timmer
  13. Too bad this happened. But happy to hear the replacement approval went smoothly.
  14. I just hit 6,000 miles with my 2018 Black Label. As with the 2016 Reserve before it, having the MKX/Nautilus light up as I approach it always makes me smile. It's like arriving home and being greeted by a faithful dog that you love beyond words. And I've loved both of my MKX's... Probably too much to ask for a "wagging its tail" feature in a future software upgrade? Starting the annual cross-country snowbird pilgrimage to warmer winter climate in a few weeks. This year it will be driving the southerly route to include portions of historic Route 66. Although I've made this road trip many times, I'm especially looking forward to driving it in the Black Label this year. Yup. - I'm a proud owner. There's something special about the MKX / Nautilus. Merry Christmas! Timmer
  15. Hi DebC, Like punchcard wrote, hopefully you can replicate the leak / water intrusion and can video with your phone to show the dealer. Let's also hope you have a supportive service tech and dealer who will work with you to resolve the problem. Keep us posted. Timmer
  16. When I bought my 2016 MKX Reserve, and being a bit of an audiophile, I considered having additional sound-deadening mat installed throughout the cabin interior floor area, firewall, etc. I did a bit of research online, then visited an auto sound system installation shop for a quote, options and more technical info on the mat material to be used. I was less than impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the salesperson and installer. The thought of these dudes tearing apart the interior of my new MKX, removing the 22-way seats, etc., moved this brilliant idea of mine to the "NOPE" list. I agree with Walkabout that my MKX's have been the quietest vehicles I've owned. Nonetheless, I do still wonder how much quieter they would be with the sound mat installed. Timmer
  17. Both my 2016 MKX Reserve and 2018 MKX Black Label were and are super quiet inside. Some types of road surfaces (asphalt, concrete, old, new, etc.) are noisier or quieter than others. Regardless, the MKX cabin remains quiet and peaceful, even on the noisiest of road surfaces. My $0.02
  18. Frustrating, I'm sure. Especially that the dealer hasn't yet ID'ed the cause... Keep us posted. Timmer
  19. Interesting. Thanks for the post Gurgeh!
  20. I agree with Enigma. Seems a little bit strange...
  21. Pet Peeve: Folks that remain in the left lane going the same (or close to the same) speed as vehicles in the right lane. Even worse: Folks that remain in the left lane, going the same speed so to purposely stay side by side with the vehicle to their right solely to not allow others to pass. AKA: Passive/Aggressive driving. Lincoln, and especially MKX drivers, never do this of course... Life would be so much better and stress levels reduced if folks would simply stay in the right lane except to pass. My $0.02
