akirby Report post Posted July 24, 2022 Never heard of that. Where did it break? Any rust or corrosion?
Cosmos36 Report post Posted July 24, 2022 On some vehicles, even of recent vintages, that are not garaged in coastal areas and subject to salt corrosion commonly confront such issues in western Oregon seaports. I wonder if JFD resides in such an environment per his Southern Atlantic regional location.
enigma-2 Report post Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) While not unheard of, its still rare. Usually the hinge pin wasn't seated properly and works itself up and out of the hinge. (Or the screws fail, but that rarer). I read in the Focus forum where a fella reported drivers and passengers door hinges on his car were cracked and he was afraid of failure. Said he only had 25k miles. Online states $400-500 to replace. I'd talk to the dealer to see if Ford will help. (They did a large latch recall couple of years back).
