2014 MKX with factory 22 wheels

Recommended Posts

I cannot for the life of me get this car aligned to where it doesn’t eat the front tires. Never been wrecked, all front end components tight. 62k miles. 15k miles on Michelin tires. Rides and drives great but is scrubbing front tires. 3 different shops that say the alignment is perfect. 1 even tried to over adjust the tow in to get rid of it,didn’t help? Anyone heard of this?

Where exactly is the wear occuring? Edges, center, tire wearing at an angle (when viewed head-on)?

OEM wheels? All parts OEM?

Tire pressures?

Br@ke dragging?

Bearing dragging?

Does the car pull at all?

Here's a good discussion on wear with good alignment.

Wearing inside of front tires the worst but is visible throughout the entire surface of the tire. Does not pull to one side or the other. Drives great. No unusual noises, brakes or bearings. Have played with tire pressures to see if it helps but it doesn't so I'm back to recommended psi. Crazy

OEM Lincoln wheels. No aftermarket parts

That would seem to be a camber issue, not toe in, so no wonder that didn't fix it.  Barring any other suggestions I would try over adjusting the Camber to compensate.  Perhaps you had some front suspension damage at some point?
