Split Wing Grill or Continental Grill in 2018?

Does anyone have reliable info on whether the 2018 MKX will drop the "split wing" grill in favor of the Continental style grill?

 

I have seen one report that that will happen on the MKC, but so far nothing on the MKX.

 

If it won't happen until 2019 I will order a 2017 now. If it will happen in 2018, I can wait. I keep my cars for 8 years or more and would rather not have the body style be outdated in only one year.

Nothing definitive at this point. My guess is it won't happen until 2019 but you never know.

When I was shopping for my '17 MKX, my local dealer mentioned that he heard the new grill will be on the 2018 model, but he did not receive anything official on it.  I personally like the new grill on the Continental, but on the MKX I actually like the current split-wing grill, so I ordered a '17 that is finally under construction and should be delivered next month.

Thanks. I heard the same thing from a salesman - rumor but no solid facts. The lack of solid information still has me on the fence.

 

I too like the look of the split wing, but it seems that every manufacturer has to have their own "look". I find the new Continental grill to be OK on that body style, but on the MKX I think it will be too close to the Jaguar F-PACE.

 

At least it will not be as terrible as the Lexus front end. It redefines ugly

How about a modified split wing?  Love the look on my '16 MKX

Before I bought my 16 in January of this year I had done some research and got a little in side scoop - that it might be on the 18 for sure 19 but there would be significant change to the length of the vehicle. I like the size now and decided to buy now rather than wait!
