I did thank you. I haven't tried to remove the dash yet, I hope a friend who is better at understanding schematics will help.

My 2011 MKX start/stop button also just pushed through the dash after a few years of barely hanging in there. I've just lost a fair bit of blood trying to get it back in position and am now resigned to dash removal. Hopefully that google drive document, if I receive it, will help.
