JOEHIO
I've used many waxes over the years (an I mean a long time), and the best wax for durability is Duragloss 845 Insulator wax. I have not found it at regular auto stores, only specialty shops, or you can google it and order online. Use SPARINGLY, and I mean sparingly, and you will get a good 9 months or more of water beading. Google the product to find out about it's origin. Before waxing, I used Malco Tru-Polish, on my Silver Ingot, looks amazing - a wet look that is unreal for a light colored car ! tberg
Robert
I couldn't find that product on the Duragloss website, here. Here's another place to buy their products.
JOEHIO
I don't know why it wasn't on their regular website. It's really some great stuff, and do use sparingly, I use a foam sponge applicator. If it sits in a cool area, I warm it in a bowl of hot water, and you really have to shake it vigorously for a few minutes for it to mix together. Armen
Or you could do as my wife does - she never waxes her car and only runs it though the wash rack once in a while. At least she keeps the inside clean!

MidnightMKX
I had a professor proclaim that men will continue to fix everything, yet women cannot cook, clean, iron or sew Lol... again what has America come to? Back to the topic as long as you clay bar once every 6 months you should be fine with any of the top name brands out there... its all about whats at the clear coat. Keep it smooth and the shine will come with a good wax every month or so.
richy
Joe, the 845 Insulator wax is made by Collonite, not Duragloss. http://www.autoality.com/store/pc/Collinite-Liquid-Insulator-Wax-845-74p57.htm#.VZDKSXD3arU
JOEHIO
Yeah, you're right Richy. Must be loosing it - sniffing too much car products. Just got my wife a '15 MKS, got rid of her '09, wanted new. This time we got EVERY option, EXCEPT Ecoboost. She went out to Pa, 4 hrs from here, and had the cruise set at 65, got 27.2 mpg's ! richy

I'm going to a local Lincoln dealer's launch party for the new MKX next Thursday. I really wanna drive the 2.7 EB!
JOEHIO
Hmmmm, I better check into the launch party, see if Maplecrest (our dealer) is having one. I want massging seats like my wifes new "S" has, they R awesome.
Galaxy Dancer
Gee you folks sound quite limited in finish options! Our 2012 MKX White Tricoat prior to its recent Ceramic Glass finish treatment, I performed the following to really neat results. Try this you will not be disappointed! ● Use an automotive detergent soap. Wash entire body, wheels and wheel wells ● Apply body clay to the entire body and lights. I use CLAY MAGIC. read instructions. Amazon online Clay sucks all the impurities out of the clear coat leaving a virgin finish to build upon. This is the secret to a brilliant shine. ● Apply, using a palm orbital buffer, NANO SEAL by Surf City Garage. Pep Boys or contact SCG online Harbor Freight sells a neat cheap highly reliable palm orbital buffer for $14.00. ● Apply Turtle Wax ICE Nano Liquid Wax. Again with a orbital buffer to apply and buff when dry. This stuff is awesome protection and is so underated. $9.99 a bottle. I apply it, use a microfiber cloth to remove and a microfiber buffing pad to shine it up. Let the wax dry for 20 mins Prior to buffing. Pep Boys WHY ICE Nano Liquid Wax? ♡ it's Nano technology which means it stays on the finish longer than conventional wax and shines so much more. ♡ you use it on everything. The painted finish, trim, lights, the black plastic like around the mirrors, lower black body panels. This stuff does not chalk or leave residues. It gives nutrition to the plastic. ♡ it repels dirt. ♡ use it on the wheels too. Ours are the clad 20" ones. Looks stellar. ♡ The SHINE is awesome! I get comps from all. My Lincoln mechanic loves the engine bay. WHY ICE Nano Spray Wax? PepBoys ♡ it's just like the liquid wax but more convenient to get to engine bay plastic, etc. ♡ I use it on the interior woods and center console and radio controls. Brilliant shine. Not on seats or dash though. Tyres - dress with SCG BEYOND BLACK TIRE PRO Pep Boys or contact Surf City Garage online Wheel Wells - Turtle Wax WAX & DRY SPRAY WAX, a cheap product to keep the black plastic wells looking Showroom new and it smells like coconuts! Pep Boys Hope this helps your MKX appearance. This is my routine to an affordable yet brilliant shiny MKX. Car stuff like this or engine oils etc. are like religions and or politics. Each of us are committed to their own beliefs and preferences. About Me. I love to wax things since I was a kid. A hobby biz years ago was finish protecting Rolls Royces. I blended my own glazes, protectants, Polishes and waxes. It was fun.

sloopdawg
I use Zaino Love It
HooksBaitandTackle
One of my favorite wax and clay bar is from Zaino Bros. Just the way I like synthetic oil in my engine instead of dino, I like synthetic wax instead of organic wax. The UV light kills the way. Synthetic wax lasts longer, just like it does in your engine. If your Lincoln is not new, I recommend the clay bar to get off all the old wax and grit before putting the wax. This is the only not fun part about having a big SUV is all the time and energy it takes to wash and wax this thing.
MKXMark
I'm not fancy, just Turtle Wax hard shell liquid and a buffer with a foam bonnet to apply.
enigma-2
Pufffffff. I'm lazy. No argument, I hate washing a car. She gets the car wash evey weekend. $20, Ultimate Wash with Simomiz Hot Wax Shine and LAVA Foam. Lasts a whole week and I get to listen to Hank Williams or Mary Robins while sucking on a Starbucks. Plusssss, (because you asked) a free light show annnnd a big stuffed ape, swinging on a swing at the Dragon Dry station. Did I mention free vacuums? (grunt)(grunt)(grunt).
