Has anyone experienced issues with the side impact sensors going off while sitting at a light in the left turn lane and traffic passing by you on your right and the sensors going off?  This has happened to me a few times now and happened yesterday while I was on the phone with the wife.  I was stopped waiting to turn left and while on the phone the right side sensor starts going off and would not go away until I put the car in park and then back to drive.  While it was going off I couldn't hear my wife over the Sync system because of the warning sounds from the side impact sensors.

Looks like it needs some kind of recalibration on the sensors?

Only happens every day.

It's a known issue with no resolution.   Live with it or turn it off via the dash button.

Has anyone brought it to Lincoln's attention?  It doesn't happen every day with me.  Usually happens only when it is raining or the car is wet.

Several have reported it but there is no fix - at least not that we've seen here.

I think the software needs to be tweaked to reduce the sensitivity.

You could always switch off the traction control system when your in traffic. This turns off the side sensing system as well (pg. 209).

For me these false alarms happen only occasionally.  Annoying, but not enough so to disable them...

I only get it when I'm entering my parking garage at work and it gets close to the side guard rails.  Other than that, no false alarms.

There are several places near me where it goes off every time. At least one is a right turn lane with nothing in it.
