I posted the original question. I am asking if there is a software update that gives me a chirp or horn when locking the door. Right now when I lock the car and push the key fob twice there is no sound whatsoever. I have checked the dashboard menu and there is nothing there.

You can switch between audible on or off through the information display screen. Under "locks". Check page 119 in the OM.

Well then, its time for a trip to the dealer...

Did you ever get this corrected?  I had the dealer look at it and they chirped (non horn) several MKXs on the lot that were very quiet and said it was normal.  My loaner MKZ was way louder and what I'd like to have in my MKX.

Also does anyone know where this speaker is that's generating the chirp?

Thanks

When I got my used 2016 MKX a month ago it was making that very faint chirp noise when I double tapped the lock button on the remote.  It seemed to of stopped now.  I'll have to check the menu option in the cluster, but I didn't change anything recently.

Also, I would really prefer it to initiate the horn and not the faint chirp.  I have used the horn honk to find the car in a parking lot, when I don't remember exactly where it is.

It is also my signal that I have lock the doors when I alk away and can't physically see the car, but can hear it, if I press the lock button.

Mine had that issue where it was faint and then stopped working. The dealer replaced the horn that emits the chirp and it's fine now.

Well, I guess I will add that to my list when I bring it back to get the brakes and wind noise taken care of.

How loud is the chirp noise when locking the doors?  When I first got the car, it was really faint.  I had to be within feet of the car to hear it, unlike mt 13 Flex which I could hear the horn really far away.

Compared to a horn honk, the MKX chirp is very muffled...certainly not audible in a large mall parking garage/lot as an aid in finding a misplaced vehicle. As a side note, the chirp is preferable to a honk that some strangers seems to delight in remotely activating just as you walk in front of their car. Damn!

Wait a couple of years. Ford will tie it into sync. Instead of hoonk, hoonk, you'll get a voice saying "your doors are locked". But with Ford's success at bringing out new Sync stuff it'll be more like "your doors" honk, honk, honk, honk .... Hoonk.

enigma-2.  I had a 1984 Chryster New Yorker that talked to you.  "Your door is agar"  "Your fuel is low"  "Your washer fluid is low"  etc.  It said almost twenty different things.  So really would be nothing new.

It sure as Hell honks loudly if you have exit the vehicle with it running and close the door!  I have to remember to leave my door open when I exit the vehicle to go to my mailbox on my way home...scared the life out of me the first time!
