I tried resetting per the instructions and it didn't work :(  I also noticed that the speed limit box is not on the navigation screen.  I've never used the cruise control and it was always been there.

Anymore ideas how I can get the little box back?

The restart worked but the speed limit did not reappear?   Or the restart itself didn't work?

Probably all the modules on the shelf are 1.0 and it's up to the dealer (you now) to update in the field. Believe I read that 1.1 is out and either 2.0 is out or coming out. (Could be wrong about this, read it in another forum.)

Edit. When back and checked, it's version 1.0.6 for Sync 3. 2.0 is not out yet.

The real option is to go to the dealer and get it fixed. Period.

Late builds of the 2016's came with version 2.  I have a 9/23/16 build and mine has 2.0.  Not sure why they aren't pushing it out to the existing MKX's yet.

Even though I have version 2, it still doesn't support Apple's CarPlay.  The MKX was supposed to have support (with the hardware upgrade) by the end of the year.  Time is running out.....

I agree, but they already tried and they also spikes with concierge, but no one had a solution.

I've been to the dealer and also spoke with the concierge but could not get a solution.  To answer above, the reset did reset but did not bring back the 'posted speed limit' box.

If this feature is linked to Sirus, you need to contact Sirus and have then resend a connect signal. This is a separate signal than your Sirus radio and Travel Link channels.

Follow up, this appears to be Sync 3 failure, fleet wide. See this thread in another forum : http://www.blueovalf...ap/#entry980111

That's the traffic issue, not the missing speed limit issue.

I agree with mosh.  My August '16 build came with Sync 3.2.0 installed, but not with the USB hardware to support Apple CarPlay.

At first I was a bit irritated by this and the seemingly endless delays in rolling CarPlay out, until I read up on it and saw that CarPlay only supports about 3 apps. It's been awhile since I researched, but I believe it also changes/limits existing Sync 3 functionality, default nav maps, etc.

Truth is, CarPlay may not be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't think any of us are missing all that much by not having it.

But I could be wrong...

Totally agree with you on CarPlay.  Still early days, so probably not all that impressive.  With that said, I'm a gadget guy, so will still be trying it out. :)

Wanted to add this bit of info. It may or may not be related, however, I stopped by our dealer and spoke with service in regards to Sync 3 issues. He showed a laundry list of issues that the engineers are working on. I also asked about available updates. They have them, but were instructed to not update prior to most issues are corrected. It appears most issues are linked to MLB app so until then it a waiting game.

Something about controlling Android with Sync 3, I think.

Oh I see.   I thought that was referring to the disappearing speed limit sign not the general release of the sync3 update.

Sorry no I am not sure if it is related. I was addressing sync 3. Some have updated to 1.1 others have 2.0 on newer '16.

Figured it was worth mentioning just in case op had the app and if so it could be another option towards finding a solution

No, I haven't tried the battery option.  I use a walker and my mobility isn't real red hot.  I think I'm going to take it back to the dealer the next time I'm in town and find me a good comfortable chair while they figure it out.

:)

At your current temperature of 3 F (feels like -10), I would hope the dealer has a roaring fireplace and some cookies & hot chocolate to curl up with.
