Question regarding power folding mechanism (via the buttons on the left of the car area. I push the button for the 40 seat and it fills right down. The 60 seat goes about half way and then I have to lower it manually the rest of the way.

Is that the case for everybody else?

The button only releases the latch, a spring like tension is suppose to drop the seat back. Make sure your beat belt is not catching the seat back.

When the seat back is down when you lift the back you should feel a tension, if you don't then maybe you need to visit the dealer. I will say that my 60 % done not go all the way down unless the arm rest is up, and even then it does not drop as well as the right side.

Just saw the other thread.... nuff said.

Had mine in the shop for this. Could not get it to go down all the way. Finally the dealer told me Lincoln said it was just a release, they never advertised that the seat would go down all the way. (Really helpful when it came to getting my husband’s wheelchair in.). Then, I purchased one of those dog protectors pads that fastens to the headrests and protects the cargo area. When I press both buttons at the same time, the pad helps pull the 60seat all the way down.. Down-side - it is a bear to get the seats back up.

I think people are used to seeing the rear seat folding flat like in the Explorer and Navigator. (I know I thought it would and was surprised to discover it °almost° does). Would have been nice, but it's ok as is.

Never had an issue with the rear seats not folding flat.  But I do miss the front passenger seat not folding flat like our 2008 Edge.

I've complained about this to the dealer on multiple occasions.  Each time, I've been assured that the 60% seat only going part way down is SOP.

And, I personally see the lack of a flat load floor as a real issue.  What's the point of an SUV if you are not going to load things in an carry?  Its not a dealbreaker, but it is a weakness.

It doesn't prevent you from carrying things.   I spent almost a month taking things to storage when we sold our house.  Never noticed an issue.  I think it's a really really minor thing.

I didn't mean to suggest that the slanted load floor prevents you from carrying things. It just makes loading and space utilization less convient. I carry bikes and camping equipment fairly often and the load floor is a minor hassle.

It's not a deal breaker by any means but it is a minor limitation.

Any idea what is involved in the fix?  I'm trying to decide if I should wait on it, or take a loaner.  Thanks!

Not sure but I think it involves replacing some of the hardware in the seat or the latch (or both).  I think it's relatively simple.  Ours folds down enough by itself that it's not an issue.

Take the loaner. If not you will be waiting for three hours and with a loaner you get to mess with different equipment.
