Hi All,

 I bought a 2014 MKX last month.

It has the THX stereo in it and I have to say it sounds horrible. It has a so called sub with and amp but I am not sure where the base is..LOL

I was looking to see if anyone has upgraded there stereo with aftermarket speakers or added a some amps.

I see it is recommend that you do not upgrade the deck because of the navigation system.

Thanks BBryan

I have the THX in my 09 MKX and it's awesome. Strong, deep base that gives whump, whump, whump (with the right CD).

It really is an excellent audio systen, I would suspect something is wrong with the subwoofer or amp.

What type of music are you listening to and what type of bass are you looking for?   The THX is known to have tight bass but it's not going to be super loud and boomy.

There seems to be an opinion in another lincoln forum that the THX system changed in the 14, using two 6x9 speakers instead of a single large deep base speaker. http://lincolnforums...stem-in-New-MKZ

Crutchfield has a Stealthbox replacement woofer. http://www.crutchfie...xes.html?tp=113
